Good word Jimi. Always good to be reminded of that truth.

You communicated in your post what I believe to be accurate, that God doesn't need our songs. It is definitely true as the rocks would cry out if our songs went unsung. However, I think your post title is incorrect by saying he doesn't want our songs. I think He does want them and delights in them when our hearts are in it. Semantics, maybe to some, but to me an important differentiation.

But I think your point is that God is after our hearts, not our words, to which I totally agree.

Jimi

Well said and point taken Jason. Thanks!

I agree with Jason, plus i would add in the words of another song... i'm coming back to the heart of worship, it's all about You, Jesus. Songs to honor, praise and worship God.

Charles Burge

Well said.

Anything acceptable to God the Father is made so by Jesus the Son.

May the Spirit be pleased to conform us to His glorious image.

4 years ago, I've experienced an event wherein a member of a group who disciples said to us that, "Music is not important for God, playing music is useless." we've been freak out. we were so disappointed of what we heard.

after all our toiling for music, all the efforts that was done is just for nothing. it hurts a lot for us because we are part of the music ministry who sets and prepares our heart so we could bring the people in worship to God.

even though it hurts, it is true that God don't need our songs. He is after our heart and one thing more, what He wants is our obedience that we will disciple the people around us.

He's after those people who doesn't know Him yet.

You may be a church musician and maybe effectively as well but if you don't disciple; better start it now if you don't want to feel rejected.

First things First'. The great commission - Discipleship.
