Where The Spirit Of The Lord Is by Hillsong

Where The Spirit Of The Lord Is was written by Ben Fielding of Hillsong and inspired by 2 Corinthians 3:16-17. Verse 16 starts by giving us this incredible picture of worship when it says that those who turn to God will have the veil lifted from their eyes. When we come to God He reveals more of who He is to us!

We invite God’s presence to be among us, He reveals more of Himself to us, and we can experience the freedom of Christ spoken of in verse 17. It says that wherever the presence of God is found there is freedom, an authentic freedom found through the love of Christ.

It’s been said that songwriters are the theologians of the day, because the Church often remembers what they sing more than what they hear. That is why we love Where The Spirit Of The Lord Is. It manages to weave scripture into the lyrics of the song in a way that embeds the truth in our hearts and brings the scripture to life.

Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom
Where the Spirit of the Lord is
Chains are broken eyes are open
Christ is with us
Christ is with us
